First Western Advisors (FWA) was founded in 1982 under the simple premise that an investment advisory firm should regard client advocacy as its paramount responsibility. This means a firm should not both create investment products and advise regarding their use.

As simple as this premise seems, it has been virtually ignored by the investment banking and brokerage industries. It was indeed foresight that the founders of First Western Advisors chose to adopt this business model.
